UAIPIT I INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS (See web site) |
At the 1st
Uaipit International Congress 2009, celebrated on February 6, 2009 at
the University of Alicante, a group of experts discussed the different
patent protection systems, the digital impact in IP Protection, various
perspectives regarding recent decisions of the Spanish courts and the
courts of other countries.
More than 150
attendees and experts came from the Americas and countries throughout
Europe. Among them were inventors, entrepreneurs, trade marks and patent
agents, law professionals, members of the Spanish Transfer Technology
Office of Alicante, the Institute for the Promotion of the Region of
Murcia and other business organizations who work daily with IP issues,
professors from various universities, students from the University of
Alicante, Valencia and Murcia, ERASMUS students, students of the Masters
on International Commerce, of the Masters of Translation, of the Magister
Lvcentinvs, as well as members of its Alumni Association. During the
official Closing Ceremony, Dr. Manuel Desantes Real, University professor
of private international Law of the University of Alicante and former
vice-president of the EPO, was recognized with the first Uaipit Honor
Distinction, in gratitude for his leadership and in gratitude for his
dedication.
Congratulations for the Congress which I enjoyed very much.
Eugenia Mateu Prades, Attorney at law and IP Agent.
We would like to congratulate the Uaipit team for the I Congress which we attended last Friday. All the attendees of the law offices of Lovells Alicante were satisfied with the organization and enjoyed the presentations very much.
Mª Carmen Such Sánchez, Riccardo Raponi, Michaël Le Marc (Lovells, Alicante).
I am of the opinion that the things in which somebody puts all their effort deserve to be recognized, especially when the result is excellent, as it has been in this Congress. I would not know what to emphasize, because everything, both the content (most interesting), and the speakers (whose all contributions were most valuable), and the organization, were marvellous. But, without a doubt, what drew my attention the most, was the emotional aspect of the event. It is pleasant to attend any event in which, as in this one, the passion and the enthusiasm of its creators and present participants are transmitted to all of us, almost without intention. I do not doubt that the rest of attendees share my opinion, because I heard similar comments when the Congress was finishing. Nor do I doubt that the emotion came partly due to the presence of a person so valued by so many, as much at the professional level, as (and mainly) at the personal level: Mr. Manuel Desantes. It was almost a question of necessity to transmit this to you who make possible U.A.I.P.I.T, and everything that it entails, since, although I am student of Law, and everything in this ample field of knowledge empassions me, I have to recognize that you have absolutely seduced me with this branch of the Law, on which perhaps I do not have as much knowledge as on others, but by which a thirst for knowledge that I did not have. For this reason, I hope that my humble opinion serves, at least, so that you will continue promoting more action to motivate us and to bring us closer to U.A.I.P.I.T. THANKS and congratulations.
Sara Isabel Tortosa Palma
"I wanted, first of all, to congratulate the UAIPIT Project: yes, the Congress was a complete success. We are convinced that the Proyect will be very welcome in the IP Professional's Community . Thank you very much for your job and efforts".
