www.uaipit.com
is an international legal portal specializing in industrial and intellectual
property law promoted by the professors of the Area of International
Private Law of the Law Faculty of the University of Alicante. It is
directed to researchers, students, and professionals in the world
of Intellectual and Industrial Property and Information Society. The
Portal was introduced June 19, 2000 by Fundación Retevisión,
now Fundación auna www.auna.es,
which has financed the launch of the Portal through a Research Project
assigned to the Department of Philosophy of Law and International
Private Law. Uaipit.com is a part of the Research Project of the Area
of International Private Law of the University of Alicante titled
“Law at the service of the integration of society and business
in the Information Society and Knowledge,”, reference number
BJU2001-085, and was subsidized by the Spanish Ministry of Science
and Technology www.mec.es.
At present, Uaipit is part of
the University of
Alicante's General Foundation and have signed collaboration agreentment
with E.P.O.
to develop Eventex-Uaipit project.
Uaipit is very grateful for the help given by the
partners.
The database of www.uaipit.com
contains documents grouped in five categories:
- Protection of inventions (including
patents, utility models and plant variety protection).
- Protection of distinctive signs (trademarks,
designs).
- Protection of copyright (copyright and
related rights).
- Information Society (e-commerce, digital
signature, data protection, the law of communication and the law
of information).
- International dispute resolution (international
jurisdiction, ADR, international civil procedure, applicable law
and enforcement of judgments).
- Competition law.
Under each category can
be found documents related to the particular section. There is also
a careful selection of annotated links where information can be sought
that is not in our database. The links section, carefully prepared
by a research group in Uaipit, details the content of each link, and
constitutes a powerful tool in our Portal. In the Portal we also have
a Publications section with respect to the four categories mentioned
above. It offers books, articles, commentaries and research works,
as well as a series of links to other free publications of interest.
The area covered by Uaipit.com encompasses the European Union, the
rest of Western Europe, as well as South and Central America and North
America. Our objective is to offer a quality service to researchers,
professionals, students, and without a doubt all persons interested
in the world of intellectual property law and Information Society
law so as to assist them in saving time and energy when doing research,
from an international perspective.
