WIPO is the global forum of services, policies, cooperation and information on intellectual property (IP). It is an agency of the United Nations, self-financed, which has 186 member states.
WIPO\\\'s mission is to take the lead in developing an international IP, balanced and effective system capable of innovation and creativity for the benefit of all. The mandate and the governing bodies of WIPO as well as the procedures governing its operation are contained in the WIPO Convention establishing the Organization in 1967.
