The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) is the core legal body within the United Nations system in the field of international trade law. UNCITRAL was tasked by the General Assembly to further the progressive harmonization and unification of the law of international trade. It promotes participation in conventions and wider acceptance of model and uniform laws, the uniform interpretation of such laws, and the dissemination on national legislation on international trade.
