The Society is a not-for-profit organization under U.S. law which as been granted Consultative Status (Category II) to the United Nations. It is the principal membership organization in the United States dedicated to advancing the study and use of international law, including private international law. The Society is both a non-partisan forum for debate and discussion and an educational institution promoting innovative thinking on issues of law, international relations, and public policy.
