This work of investigation is divided in three main parts. First, the general principles of the electronic commerce, the mercantile contracting are analyzed the electronificatcion of the value titles. Second, we studied transport documents in general, making special emphasis in the bill of lading both physical as electronic. The initiatives of International Marine Commission and the private of the Bolero system are also analyzed, as well as the disadvantages that we can find when transforming a physical document as it is bill of lading in an immaterial support as it is the electronic bill of lading. Finally, an analysis of compared Law between the Spanish legislation, the international treaties of world-wide scope that govern the marine transport of merchandise and the international merchandise transaction and the Spanish and communitarian legislation relative to the electronic commerce is made. From this compared analysis we obtain answers of analogical form on the possibilities of the emission of the electronic bill of lading with a certain legal security about its validity.
