This presentation will discuss the crucial role of IP, especially patents, in the process of taking research ideas from academia and turning them into successful businesses. This process, usually referred to as Technology Transfer, is having to evolve and adapt quickly to meet the challenges of the changing environment and new technology, and it is vital therefore to understand the part IP has to play.
