Since the deadline set by the Lisbon Strategy has passed, it is desirable to hold a Forum on the following issues during the Spanish Presidency of the Union: the European Anti-Piracy Observatory (structure, operation, meetings, goals and functions, sources and resources, and cooperation with national authorities and private organisations, among others) and in relation to the future of European action in this area (ongoing improvements to legislation and its effective application, adequate operation of the network of national contact points, etc.). This is in addition to the new challenges which have arisen in this field as a result of the new digital environment. The forum will be celebrated on 11 June 2010, in Madrid, Spain.
