This article discusses the advantages of the use of electronic signatures in international electronic contracting carried out between companies on the Internet. The objective of this article is twofold: first, to show the importance of electronic signatures as a security mesure for electronic contracts business-to-business (B2B); and second, to lay out the role of electronic signatures in the formation of this kind of international contract carried out on the Internet. To this end, in this analysis we study, firstly, the role of electronic signatures as an instrument of security in electronic contracts carried out via Internet (II); secondly, the role of of electronic signatures in the formation of electronic contracts B2B, analysing the problems of determining the place of formation in order to determine the international legal jurisdiction and applicable law (III); thirdly, electronic signatures are analysed in relation to the requirements that must be fulfilled for a true offer and acceptance in the formation of an electronic contract (IV); and lastly, the involvement of electronic signatures as evidence of an electronic contract (V). This study ends with a practical problem (VI); and a conclusion (VII).
