One of the key measures proposed in the European Commission Action Plan is the elaboration of a common frame of reference. Some European research groups are involved in its drafting and some drafts have already been published. Because it is still unclear which will be the real impact of the CFR on European law de lege lata and de lege ferenda the Congress "European Private law beyond the CFR" is aimed at discussing some of the drafts that are circulating and at debating new paths for the development of European contract law.
